I am pleased to announce that the Voorhees Animal Orphanage is now officially in the running for the "Zootoo Shelter Makeover"! Please support the shelter and our orphans today by going to www.zootoo.com to register. It's very, very simple and takes only a few minutes to make a big difference.

On the homepage, click on the "Join Us" box. Create a user name and password. Enter zip code 08043 under "support your local animal shelter" and choose the Voorhees Animal Orphanage. Then simply agree to the terms and submit and you have already accumulated 100 points for our shelter! Zootoo will (very quickly) send you an email, and by clicking the link in the email to complete registration you will accumulate more points.

The contest is very simple: the shelter with the most points wins. The leading shelter has A LOT of points, so we have some catching up to do! The good news is- there are 20 prizes awarded, so aside from the grand prize of a shelter renovation of up to $1,000,000, we do have a chance of winning $5-10,000 cash for the shelter! However, we are going to shoot for the gold!!! With the support of all the friends of AO and everyone we can reach out too- we can make a difference!!

Once you are registered, you will accumulate points for simply being active on the website: submitting ratings and reviews, making friends, and participating in discussions. There is a ton of great information on the website. It’s a great network too. You can find people with similar pets and in the same area, we can try to recruit new volunteers, send messages to your “zootooers”, and post pictures of your own zoo (your pets) in your profile. After all, we’re all in this because we love our companion animals!

If you want to do even more to help support the shelter win, here are some ideas:

• Email everyone you know to ask them to register for the Voorhees Animal Orphanage
• Print, fill out, and post the attached flier
• Arrange an interview for the AO with newspapers, radio or television
• List on any websites you have access to (website banners available- just email me!)
• Ask businesses, schools and churches to support us

Get creative! If you have any ideas or need help, please let me know! The Animal Orphanage is dependent upon your support to continue caring for and finding homes for our orphans and winning this contest would go a long way.
