Dearest Animal Orphanage staff:
I'd just like to give you guys an update on Lola, AKA
Broomhilda...
On March 17 she has officially been the run of our
household for exactly one year, and yet if feels like
Lola has been a part of my life since as far back as I
can remember!
As I type this, she is fresh from her weekly bath
(Philadelphia is a dirty city, and Lola certainly
loves enjoying it!) and asleep on my leg, which under
her 60-pound frame, is falling asleep. And I wouldn't
have it any other way.
As she's grown with us, I am amazed every single day
with so much about Lola... How well-mannered, obedient
and yet completely silly she is, how utterly sweet and
social she is, and how easily she wins over every
single person that walks through our door (no matter
how pitt-phobic!) But most importantly, I've also come
to realize how much I needed her in my life. And when
she looks up into my eyes with that cheeky Lola look,
I get the feeling that she knew all along I was
supposed to find her.
Thanks to you guys at the Animal Orphanage for taking
care of my baby until that lovely day when I first saw
her and she came running up to me, tennis ball
dangling in her mouth, and I knew she was mine. I only
hope everyone who visits you guys can have the same
experience as mine.
