Gina
Gina was one of our long time
residents who stopped in to say
hello. She is very happy with her
new forever family whom she also
shares with two
"Min-Pins". |

Samantha

Samantha is doing wonderfully and
she is a dream come true. It's
hard to believe that someone would
get rid of such a wonderful dog (but
I'm glad because she's with us).
She responds very well and starts
Level I training tomorrow.

Gus (formerly Dusty)
Hello I just wanted to write you
about my cat i adopted in August of
2002. When i left the girls there
said "send us pictures". I
guess i forgot. His name was Dusty
but i named him "Gus" aka
"Mr. Gus Butt". He is a
spoiled rotten kitty. He fetches his
toys to tell me he wants to play.
He's my little buddy i love him! He
even has a new brother
"Felix" as of 2 years ago.
Thank you
Beth

Mary

We just want to thank you again
for the wonderful puppy you
provided for our family.
Courtney, our daughter, really
fell in love with the dog as did
our entire family. She is so
spoiled and loved its ridiculous.
hahah. Her name is mary and she is
the most perfect dog in the
universe. Rest assured, we will
love and cherish her forever.
Thanks again for your compassion
and kindness. Both will forever be
appreciated more than you'll know!
sincerely,
jim and connie

Brutus
Hi
This
is Pia and Brutus.
I am so happy with the new
addition to our family. He is such
a sweetheart. I was not sure how
our cat would react but she just
looks at him from a distance and
then she runs downstairs. He
hasn't shown her any interest at
all so far.
Since
he is such a handsome dog he now
got his own web site. I know that
the woman who fostered him was
interested in photos so she might
want to see it.
Thanks
Pia

Savannah
(formerly Olive)
|
Hi there,
We just wanted to let you know how
Savannah is doing- and that is
great! When we adopted her at the
end of January, she was very
skinny. She has since gained
weight, filled out, and gets along
great with her brother Cajun.
She still shows some submissive
behaviors, but we're working with
her and giving her lots of
positive reinforcement!! One of
her best friends is Indy (used to
be Odie) who also came from Animal
Orphanage. They love to run around
and play together. Thanks again
for giving us such a wonderful
dog.
Sincerely,
Laurisa

Minx (formerly Maritza)
We
adopted Maritza the manx cat from
the animal orphanage in March 2006.
We changed her name to “Minx”.
She had been with you nice folks for
a couple of months and we fell in
love with her on a visit to the
shelter. She joined our other 2
rescue cats in our home and has
adjusted well. She loves her new bed
and new playmates and is perfectly
happy being an indoor only cat. She
is very friendly to visitors in our
home, and always enjoys a scratching
under her chin. Just wanted to
let you know the happy ending to her
story

Darcee
I just wanted to give you a Darcee
update (I picked her up on
Christmas Eve). She is the
sweetest, nicest, most
perfect dog! We are
having a great time. Today
she is with me at the office, she
loves walking to work with me and
then keeping me company.
Her veterinarian advised me to put
her on a diet and she has lost 5
pounds. I think she was
eating too well at the Animal
Orphange. I took her in
again yesterday, and the vet says
she can lose another 5 pounds (so
can I!).

Sammi, Romeo, & Chloe

|
Hi.
I just wanted to update you on my
adopted "children". Sammi
was adopted in August of 2005. She
is the most wonderful little dog!!
She loves car rides and travels very
well! She just sleeps on the back
seat the whole time! She is so well
behaved! It's very hard to imagine
this little girl as a stray! She was
completely shaved when I brought her
home and her coat has since grown
in. She's just beautiful. Absolutely
the best dog!! Excellent in every
way!
I
adopted Romeo and Chloe in December.
Chloe has since become the most
loving little girl. She
"asks" to be picked up and
carried around, purring the whole
time.! She's still very small at 6
months old. Her name was chosen
because she's such a delicate little
ball of fur. Romeo is also very
loving! When you pick him up, he
wraps his paws around your neck and
purrs his head off!! Of course, then
he gives you a love bite on your
chin!! He stands up on you like a
dog!
Thank you for taking good care of
these furry friends until I could
adopt them!

Thought you
might want to see Wilton and his
sisters, Petunia (white pitbull) and
Meg. They just had a big day. It is
very sunny outside so they had to
dig a big hole to make sure there
were no moles in my yard. Then they
had to put the neighborhood cats in
line. After that the pesky lab next
door had to be barked at!!! I love
my Pitts!!! (note:
Wilton is the one on the right)

Sunny, Tango, and Maranga

|
Sunny has adjusted very well in
our home since we first began
fostering him and he is now
officially a part of the Delaney
clan. Sunny was a special case
as he was a little
"nippy" at the shelter but
he is a completely different
dog now that he is in a
home environment. He is very
obedient and happy and so are we.
We couldn't have asked for a better
dog! He helps us wake up in
the morning and we do get our
exercise now. Sunny joins our
cats Tango and Maranga who were
also adopted from the AO many years
ago. We recommend adopting a
shelter pet and giving them the
great life they so deserve. It
is very rewarding.! Denise
& David.

Well, it
finally happened! I became a mommy
yesterday to a 2-year old brindle
pit bull named Lola (previously
Hilda, short for Broomhilda)!!! We
rescued her from a shelter in
Voorhees, NJ and she's been great so
far. We picked her because although
she was the shelter's favorite for
her great behavior, she wasn't the
cutest dog there, so she kept
getting passed up. However, we fell
in love with her immediately and we
could tell she'd be a good fit here
in Philly. I took her home in my car
and she was very chill, even laying
down to sleep for a bit. So far, so great!
