Happy Halloween to Everyone At The A.O.,
I just wanted to send you a brief note and let you know how well Ralph (now known as Leo) the cat is doing here at his new home in Philadelphia. I adopted him five weeks ago and he has settled in very nicely with his new "sister" Serenity and has quickly learned all the things she knows like the best spots to sleep, when dinner is being served and what the best toys are. He really is a wonderful and loving kitty and I love him so much. Thank you for taking care of him and thanks to all the young ladies who were so helpful when I visited your shelter.
Thanks again! --Ann Lyntkowski

Just a quick note to let you know that Lily is settling in nicely. She is a very sweet little bully girl...loves everyone she meets. Has been doing well with her leash and obedience training.

Dear AO staff and volunteers,
Back in early November, a 4 week old puppy came into the shelter and was in need of a foster home. My family took him into our care and around Christmas time, I adopted him. His name is Boo Riley and he is doing very well. He has grown to be a very well socialized little boy. He is about 4 months old now and the vet gave him an 'A+' when he went for his check-up. He is a wonderful addition to our family and I just wanted to let everyone know he is doing well.

She is doing absolutely wonderful!! We can not get over how
well she is listening, how fast she is learning, and how lovable
and cuddly she is! She is a big lap dog! She weighs 50 lbs now,
and already has a boyfriend named Onyx (another pit, people
actually confuse them because they look exactly alike!) They
play at the park, and walk together. When I took her to the
vet, the vet and the staff were amazed with her and how good
she is. All the people that were worried about the "pit bull"
thing have now changed their minds and absolutely adore her.
Thank you so much for the opportunity of adopting her, and know
that she is in wonderful hands. I will send pics as she gets older, and will definitely
keep in touch!

Now that I'm getting the hang of this, here are a few from
our weekend in the mountains. We were both "tired pups"
from lots 'o running and hiking!! It was hard to pick just
a few. I kinda went nuts with the camera, ha ha. Tons of
pics of Samantha!!!

Hello,
Max, the labrador retriever
we adopted last month, is a great dog. He is fun-loving
and very affectionate. He gets along great with our other dog too.
They play all the time. Thank you for allowing us to bring him
into our home.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note thanking the
shelter for my kittens. My husband and I love
them so so so much! They seem to love us too!
Their names are Sushi (Tabby) and Simba (Gray).
We adopted them on May 23, 2004 at 6 weeks old.
As you can see from the picture, they have
really made themselves at home.

Hank and Boone were both adopted from the Animal Orphanage 3 years apart
from one another. Boone is a handful at 16 weeks and Hank is a kind and
patient old man of 9 years. They have become great friends and Boone has
actually been sucessful at getting Hank off of the sofa to engage in "playtime"
every day!! In addition to Hank and Boone we have also adopted 3 cats from the
Animal Orphanage. Vader age 4, Sid age 2 and Buffy 7 months. I can honestly
say that at any age there is nothing better than adopting a shelter animal!!

Hi Everyone, Just writing to let
you know what a fun time I had at
Woofstock!!! It was such a great day.
I have been a little scared around new
people and other dogs at times, but
Woofstock brought out the social butterfly
in me. I got to make so many new doggy
friends and had lots of people fawning all
over me. It was the best! Can't wait til
next year!! Thank you so much for all that
you do. You guys are really terrific...
Love,
Bella (a.k.a. "Sassy" -- Vanessa's pup)

Hello,
I am the mother of a two year old Rottweiler/Lab mix.
I was looking for a canine companion for "Heidi" as she needed
one badly, as she was suffering from "only child syndrome". I
searched through the Petfinder site and came across
a dog at another shelter. By the time I was ready to inquire
about him- he was gone. About a week later, I saw him on your site
and called to inquire about him. I was told that your agency
rescued him from the previous agency due to the fact that they
were ready to euthanize him. I scheduled a meet and greet with
"Zeke" (Great Dane/Boxer mix) and Heidi and all went well. I
fell in love with Zeke from the minute I met him. I was so
happy when I found out that my adoption was approved. The
first couple of weeks with Heidi and Zeke were an adjustment.
Heidi and Zeke are now the best of friends. I could not have
picked out a better match for her. Zeke has really developed
a personality. He is loyal and very affectionate. He is a big
lap dog. He has grasped basic commands beautifully. You will
see that Zeke is healthy, happy, and loved very much. Oh, yeah,
and very spoiled- but I wouldn't have it any other way! I would
like to give a big thanks to all of the staff at your agency for
taking such wonderful care of all the animals at your agency-
especially Zeke. The work you do is so important and not given
enough recognition. Thank you again for all of you time, effort,
and commitment.

I just wanted to let you know how Susie is doing. She has been with us for over a month now, and it seems as if she has been here forever. What a sweetheart! She is, without a doubt, the most snuggly dog I've ever met. I think she realizes what a good home she has, too, because she is really doing well with her training. She is a joy to take on walks, she loves to "play games," and she is just great company.
I think the smartest thing we did was have a reputable dog trainer assess her before we adopted her---I certainly would recommend it to anyone who is unsure of a dog. Who says that all pit bulls/mixed breed dogs are bad? We have a great dog who certainly has convinced us that you just have to give a dog a chance!
I will send pictures of Susie when I download them. I just wanted you to know for now that she is happy and healthy and getting SOOOOO much attention!
Thank you for taking care of Susie for so many months and for not giving up on her!
--Nellie & family
